During the month of November we had a discussion about Gender Based Violence with Dr. Sonia Salari from Family and Consumer Studies, Representative Angela Romero and Jennifer Campbell, Executive Director of South Valley Services.

 

 

 

 

During the month of October we had our first of the second series of "Dialogue on Disparities" with Dr. Jeff Rose discussing Homelessness: Communities on the Edge. This was also the inagural lecture with the new NEXUS director, Lori Kowaleski-Jones. 

During the month of March there were two events. The first outlined research funding opportunities inside the realm of inequality and disparities. 

 

The other was a presentation from Dr. Michelle Debbink "Racial and ethnic inequities inSevere Maternal Morbidity: How a reproductive justice and population health lens can help to move the needle" Research Opportunities.

"The Science of Art: Perspectives on Embedding Concepts of Diversity and Inclusion into Academics"

Dr. Butt will share his experiences in teaching and research that helped him appreciate and leverage a variety of perspectives and backgrounds.

He will lead a discussion on brainstorming on what we can do together to advance the new 1U initiative: a Fair and

Equitable Society.
